About Us
The Department achieved 100% result two times and, above 80% during most of the years. Students of the Open Course-"Film Studies," offered by the Department, achieved heights when one of the batches made a documentary on the Pampa river which was later accepted by the Pampa River Protection Council as study material. 60% of the U.G students have gone for higher studies in Hindi and other courses. Many have qualified to universities like CUSAT, SSU, Madras University etc. and some have cleared competitive exams such as SET, CAT etc.
The future vision of the Department is to evolve as a Postgraduate and Research Department and the present faculty is indeed well qualified for it. The Department of Hindi has designed a Communicative skills development Programme Hindi Sampreshan Kaushal Course with the help of Mrs. K. Girija Nambiar, educationist and career career counsellor, for the students of the department as well as other departments. If successful, the department is planning to spread it to the community too. The Department wants to apply for an add on course in Translation and Communicative Skills with the support of UGC when opportunity arises.
